Cabin Fever - Fixed the photos

I don't know why the photos sometimes don't work out, but I think it's all good now. Now back to my original post...

This is day 3 of being stuck inside and I'm starting to go a little crazy. No sign of any plowing on either our street or our sidewalk and it's pretty slippery everywhere. I would brave the elements, but since I know from many years of experience with Montréal winters that it's sucky enough falling down on my own, I really don't want to experience falling down with my 16 pound baby strapped to my chest... How many chores can I get done today before succumbing to the couch, a bag of chips and some mindless TV? Actually, since we really need groceries, my snacking options are mercifully limited. Nothing says "depressed and inactive new Mom" like an empty McCain cake tin and handful of Doritos-stained fingers...

I took this of Liliane this morning - my view of her playing beside me on the bed while I read the paper:

I was eating my lunch and looked over to see her staring intently at me and my tuna sandwich. Do you see the accusation in her eyes? Hey, how come you get a sandwich and I get stuck with rice cereal?

Transfixed by the falling snow:

Sad, so sad. This is the view out our front window. Can you believe it's EASTER next week?

I am thankful that there's a cute movie with talking animals playing on YTV right now. Those of you familiar with my, ahem, eclectic taste are aware of my profound love of talking animal movies. Not cartoons, but real animals who "talk" via CGI and celebrity voices. What can I say? We all have our vices :)

The other news around here is that we have a squirrel visitor skittering around in the space between the ceiling and the roof. The landlord put a rat trap up there with peanut butter as bait and I heard it go off yesterday but alas, no squirrel was in it. Can I just say that there is nothing like hearing the snap of a trap above your head to give you the heebie-jeebies? Gross.

I think the little critter is pretty smart (he is an urban squirrel after all) so it sounds like a live trap is the next step. Plus it's more humane. We had a look around and made sure that there's no way for it to get into the apartment so it's just sort of creepy and annoying.

That's it for today. I think when Stéphane gets home tonight I'll go out and at least get a few groceries, otherwise I'll be eyeing that squirrel for the crock pot...

Poor baby! I feel your pain, being stuck inside for days on end, with a possibly rabid squirrel just the width of a peice of gyproc away... hee hee

For some reason your pic's aren't showing but I'll check when I get home. I'm sure they're all adorable! She might be ready for a little fruit mixed in with her cereal.
