The Last Christmas Post! Part 12

On December 28th, my Mom hosted another turkey dinner just for her brothers and their significant others. Stéphane and I were invited to crash the party, so of course we did.

Here is Liliane going all ga-ga for Uncle Wayne. He is definitely one of her favorites.

Real Christmas pudding. The one with all the candied fruits and big raisins. I guess I'm getting older because I actually didn't mind it... It helps to pour a lot of the sauce (basically butter, cream and vanilla) over it.

After dinner we played games, did a puzzle and, naturally, ate more goodies.
This is lefsa, a sugary, buttery, Norweigan treat that is my FAVORITE thing to eat at Christmastime. So happy that my aunt Betty made some this year and brought it over.
Here is the full sweetie spread...
That is finally it for Christmas! My next posts will be of the rest of our Vancouver trip. Since it's now 3:00 and I'm still in my PJs, this might just be it for today...

A Break from Christmas! Xavier's Hockey Game

On December 28th we went out to Abbotsford to watch Xavier play hockey. Stéphane got some good action shots... It was an historic match because Xavier scored his first goal!

Christmas Part 11

Yes, more matching outfits. Jen got these for the kids and they of course look scrumptious. Note Liliane's grumpiness - she was like that in all the versions of this photo... I think it's because her tights clash with her outfit.

Speaking of adorable, here are my grandparents opening gifts...
The dinner table, post feast.

So my sister just informed me that I could have done one big slide show with all these photos instead all of these separate posts... Oh well. Next time.

Anyway, back to Christmas. Here is the Hicks family pre-present opening at Grandma's house. Now it's December 27th.

More presents! We had so much fun doing it all over again, this time at Grandma's house.

Christmas Dinner...

Stéphane and I were just so excited to actually be eating together at the same time that we didn't take any pictures of the table or the scrumptious feast. We've got my Dad in his Christmas cracker hat here...

And this lovely photo of Bari and Jaime in theirs. That's about it.

See, it does snow sometimes in Vancouver! Here is the backyard on Christmas Day...

Christmas Day continued...

Here are the other kids in their costumes... Georgia (#4)

Here is Xavier as a Knight (he is kiddo #1)

Liliane and Auntie Jean before she nodded off (the baby, not Auntie J)

Here is Great-Grandpa, Grannie Jill's Dad.

Still more to come. Hang in there, Christmas is a big deal in our family...

Yep, still Christmas day. Liliane with Daddy. Aww.

My Auntie Jean had a lot of good quality cuddling time with the baby since she fell asleep on her pretty much for the entire evening...

More of Christmas dinner in the next post...

Is it a cop from a ChiPs?? No, it's my brother Matthew playing the fake mustache game! I missed most of this but there were a lot of good times (and silly photos) due to the fake mustache...

I have a bunch more pictures of all the fabulous stuff we got but since naptime only lasts so long, you'll have to take my word for it. We were spoiled.

So the rest of the day was spent cleaning up and getting ready for Christmas dinner BUT a brave few of us went into the forest for a walk. The rain had turned to snow so we bundled up, took the dog, left the baby with Auntie Jen and headed out. I don't have a copy of the picture of us all yet. Bari, can you send it to me, please??

We took a few family photos before dinner... Our first Christmas together!

Christmas morning continued...

This is Calleigh in her Shrek costume. She will kill us for bringing out these photos when she brings her first boyfriend over but they're just too hilarious...

Uncle Stéphane with Klausine and sleepy Liliane. That would be my sister's handiwork....

Stéphane and Jaime.

I caught Calleigh going for the food when nobody was looking. At least she was reaching for an orange and not a cookie!
