The Latest from Paris!

Liliane and I went to visit my former boss/confidante/adopted Maman/mentor and dear friend Francine at her house yesterday. Francine had a gift for Liliane that came all the way from Les Galeries Lafayette in Paris! An adorable summer dress in that perfect pink that looks so great in my blond-haired, blue-eyed babe.



Francine has a big-time job that doesn't leave her lots of free time but whenever we do get to see each other, it's like a recharge for my mental and spiritual batteries. Plus Liliane gets all kinds of cuddling and experienced-Maman treatment from this mother of two almost-grown girls.

It's so important to have other mothers in your life when you have a baby. Especially if your family is not around the corner. Or even a short drive away. Heck, my family isn't even a short PLANE ride away! The motherhood experience is different for every woman and yet, somehow, universally and absolutely the same. And sharing that experience, warts and all, is helpful on most days, ESSENTIAL on others.

OK, off to get organized for our overnight in Quebec city. Plus my pal Maggie is stopping in for a visit after she RODE HER BIKE from Toronto to raise money for AIDS. You go girl!

Next week: Playdate with Rosie back from a month-long sojourn in the UK, plus a plan for my back-to-work schedule. Perhaps an outing with daycamp as well? (Don't laugh people, anything is possible...)
